Little Herberts is a private day nursery owned by myself, Debbie.

We have been established since September 2007 and are currently OFSTED-registered for 65 children between 6 months to five years of age. We have five classrooms at present and have a purpose-built baby unit to the rear of the nursery, this should be opening for summer 2010. Once registered with OFSTED this will create 25 spaces for children under the age of two years.

We have 19 staff employed at Little Herberts, 17 of these staff work directly with the children. All of our staff are fully vetted and hold current C.R.B checks. When recruiting staff we undertake C.R.B checks and personal references to ensure the highest standards of recruitment selection. we send staff on regular training courses, all of the staff have under taken ‘safeguarding children’ training, as a nursery we have a duty of care to safeguard the children whilst in our care at the nursery.
We operate a key person system at Little Herberts, The role of the key person is to build up a bond with your child so that they feel safe and secure and have some they can relate to when you leave them in our care. The key person is responsible for caring out day to day observations and use these to complete the planning with in the class room. Your child's development is tracked on a regular basis and activities are provided to encourage further development.
 

As a nursery we aim to give your child an enjoyable experience where they can feel safe and secure and can learn through play while reaching their own individual learning goals.
